Director of Product

A future minded multi-platform sports network is seeking a Director of Product to join our team. As the only major national sports network in the Midwest, Stadium offers a unique opportunity to create work that matters and define the future of the sports broadcasting industry.

Based in Chicago, Illinois, the Director of Product will be responsible for digital product strategy creation and execution to drive consumer revenue. The Director of Product also has the opportunity to contribute to the development of the digital product roadmap itself, building an industry leading web site, app, content syndication and OTT platforms that focus on providing a superior user experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Stadium management to drive corporate strategy and create product strategy to execute on that strategy
  • Develop, define and communicate the product roadmap and lead internal and external parties towards execution
  • Craft detailed requirements, project plans and use cases accounting for all scenarios of a product release
  • Identify new product features, develop partnerships, and create execution plans that allow Stadium product set to become leader in sports media
  • Work daily with live, content and ad ops teams to ensure product concepts and back-end functionalities meet all needs
  • Leverage product set to create data platforms to guide Stadium content decisions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with external development teams to improve and build out product features for Stadium apps, web and connected platforms as well as distribution channels and back-end services (admin/CMS), focusing on business goals, partner needs and user experience
  • Serve as gatekeeper, organizer and priority-setter for all internal teams as it pertains to the digital products
  • Perform data-driven prioritization of features that meet audience and business needs; set minimal viable product releases
  • Understand Stadium’s audience’s wants and needs from the digital products
  • Proactively measure and understand how the audience interacts with the products
  • Manage all aspects of the cross-functional team from the Stadium side, including inter-team communications and leadership of results-oriented meetings
  • Assist in developing marketing plans in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Communicate product vision, roadmaps and issues to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven ability to drive corporate initiatives through product vision and execution
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication and stakeholder management
  • Highly collaborative with internal teams and external partners
  • Proven ability to impose structure and a culture of organization
  • Exceptional organizational skills; ability to coordinate and manage all details of a product release
  • Professional and clear written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate to executives and across organizations
  • Detail-oriented and self-starter
  • Proven history of successfully managing multiple product efforts
  • Ability to read and analyze product metrics and make insightful recommendations based on measured product results
  • Outward passion for the media industry
  • Strong industry knowledge of digital products and how they are utilized
  • Versed in Agile Product Management methodology and tools
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience with digital product and project management responsibilities (experience working at media or entertainment company required)
  • 10+ years’ experience with online, consumer-facing digital products
  • Experience with product releases involving advertising system integrations, editorial content management, online video technologies and live-streaming systems
  • Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL
